About ESA

Epsilon Sigma Alpha was founded in 1929 by Adelia Prichard as a means to aid in education. Shortly after ESA was founded, chapters started combining their educationals with socials and philanthropic projects.

In 1972 ESA adopted as its international project St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, founded by Danny Thomas. During our years of service to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ESA members have raised over $100 million!

Various programs for volunteering, fundraising, and other hands on projects are ongoing throughout ESA. Programs such as Hope for Heroes, sending care packages to military personnel overseas. Most state councils also have a state project, recognized charity--501(c)3.
In addition each chapter has it’s own projects, including community service projects.
